Ray and I were fortunate to be in Mrs. Waller's first grade class at Osborn School. We became fast friends and remained so through high school. We had much in common. I miss Ray's quiet demeanor and sweet ways.
Remember when the rules at AHS allowed for only current students to attend the special dances? Well, senior year I was dating a grad of our dear school, so I asked my good friend, Ray, to go to the Tri Hi Y formal. That's our silhouette on page 66 of The Guide. He, in turn, took me to the prom. What a sweetheart and a good friend he was!
