Chris was my best friend all through junior high and high school. Her parents never said no to entertaining a bunch of teenagers for a party after games or band trips. We had many a taffy pull or cookout at the Warnes' house! RIP, dear friend. You are missed.
Chris lived directly across the street from Pleasant Street School. Every year as summer gave way to school days, she would bring in a bag full of quinces from the tree that shaded the front of their grand house. Some kids loved them, while others couldn't handle the sourness, twisting their faces uncontrollably. It was always hilarious. She was a mischievous and fun friend. Aloha, Chris.
